Promoting independence at snack time…
Promoting independence is a key part of our daily routine at Watcombe Nursery.
Snack time in the 2-3’s room is a great way to practice independent skills such as chopping and pouring. The children are given a chopping board with child friendly knifes and supported by adults to cut up their own snack for example banana. A small jug is also available for children to pour drinks. Here are a few snaps and a video of snack time yesterday.
Allowing children to be independent boasts their self-esteem and can build confidence and support learning and development.
