2 Year Old Funding Spaces Available

At Watcombe Childrens Centre Nursery we pride ourselves on having a balanced mix of children, both funded and paying.  Did you know that a nursery can benefit your childs development, in both social and everyday skills? ‘A recent report suggests going to nursery is more beneficial for helping youngsters develop social and everyday skills, while by contrast staying at home can lead to poorer speech and movement.’

Free education and Childcare for 2-year-olds

Your 2-year-old can get free early education and childcare if you live in England and get one of the following benefits:

1. Income Support

2. income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)

3. income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

4. Universal Credit – if you and your partner have a combined income from work of £15,400 or less a year, after tax

5. tax credits and you have an income of £16,190 or less a year, before tax

6. the guaranteed element of State Pension Credit

7. support through part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act

8. the Working Tax Credit 4-week run on (the payment you get when you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)

A child can also get free early education and childcare if any of the following apply:

1. they’re looked after by a local council

2. they have a current statement of special education needs (SEN) or an education, health and care (EHC) plan

3. they get Disability Living Allowance

4. they’ve left care under a special guardianship order, child arrangements order or adoption order

If you’re eligible the free early education and childcare:

1. must be with an approved childcare provider

2. starts from the term after your child’s 2nd birthday

You may have to pay for extra costs like meals, nappies or trips.
