Nursery Nurse position available

A Nursery Nurse position has become available; it is for a minimum of 30 hours per week (Scheduled between 07:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday).

Watcombe Childrens Centre Nursery is a 0-8 setting based in Watcombe Torquay. We are looking for a motivated colleague to join our team, who will be responsible for the general care and wellbeing of all children within the setting. You will plan and prepare for enhanced learning and development using EYFS guidelines, and always ensuring that the children’s learning, development, safety and safeguarding needs are being met.

We offer competitive rates of pay, 4 weeks holiday per year plus bank holidays, and extended holiday over the Christmas period. We also hold two in-house training days per year, and we actively support CPD.

The candidate will need to be well motivated, enthusiastic and preferably have some experience of working with children.

The successful candidate will be required to:

Have a passion for children and childcare

Have a minimum NNEB, NVQ/CACHE level 3 or equivalent qualification 

Have a sound knowledge of the EYFS

Have a good, professional level of spoken and written English.

Take responsibility of a group of key children.

Plan a range of interesting, age appropriate activities.

Create engaging learning environments.

Have a keen eye for health and safety and safeguarding issues.

Be proactive, self-motivated and have an attention for detail.

Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.

The pay will be £7.50 per hour (for a NVQ level 3) and you will be entitled to 4 weeks holiday plus all Bank Holidays. 

The successful candidate will need to have a DBS (Disclosure and Baring Service), and this will be paid by the company if you haven’t already joined the Update Service. If you leave before your contract ends then we will be entitled to deduct the cost of the DBS from your last month’s pay. As an employee you will be expected to join the Update Service and this will form part of your terms of contract. You will also be required to sign a Staff Disqualification Declaration form.
